In 1986 my backpacking buddy Johnny B and I were given permission to set up and camp on some remote land near Winklers Creek. I set up a very primitive tipi using tarps and an old discarded tent for covering. It even had a small woodstove. Johnny B, on the other hand, had a fine white canvas 16 foot tipi set up on the hill behind me, I remember hauling in the poles for him and taking up his heavy iron woodstove.

The Harvard Tipi Camp
