The Yucca Pack in Texas
Probably every kid has stories of camping out and using an old canvas Yucca pack from his boy scout days. Here I am in Texas in 1963 preparing for another trip into whatever nearby woods I could find. With me is an old WWII metal canteen and my old "boondock" hat. Inside the pack were many items used to study my little outdoor world, including a plaster mix to pour over animal footprints and, when dried, to take home in solid form.
